Review for Canon EOS Rebel T2i EOS 550D

Camera is not a baby; Canon EOS Rebel T2i or known as EOS 550D in Europe is the youngest of the Canon EOS family born with some surprised features already.

A mere 470 grams weighs the naked body, equipped with operational battery, memory card and the EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 are not even to shoulder 750 grams. Canon has achieved this "flyweight" with the consistent use of plastic for the housing. This does not, fortunately, so much for 'plastics and synthetics "as with previous EOS entry-level models such as the 300D, but fairly robust. The workmanship is neat, clean, close all doors, are not unwanted burrs or even gaps between the housing shells it. The grips, Canon has also covered with a kind of rough leather, which provides extra grip. The tripod mount is after all made of solid metal and fits neatly in the optical axis. Also accessible from the bottom is the battery compartment. It includes an energy source, the capacity of 1120 mAh for up to 550 shots last - but only if no live view nor the internal flash be used. As some competitors now have a much greater staying power.

We have mainly tested the EOS Rebel T2i with the EF-S 18-55mm F3 ,5-5, 6 IS. Canon typically has the sensor of the EOS Rebel T2i a "crop factor" of 1.6, as that is slightly smaller than a real APS-C sensor. The rest of the body made completely of plastic zoom gives a bit the impression that it had been made by the toys company. With just over 200 grams, it is nevertheless extremely portable. Also positive that Canon has this "entry-level lens" implanted an image stabilizer, for an anti-shake in the body via sensor shift does not know the EOS cameras. An auto focus drive is integrated into the lens; this goes fast, but with vocal humming in the correct focus position. Both the autofocus and the image stabilizer can be directly on the lens off with two small slide switches on or off. A display in the viewfinder of the currently selected mode withheld Canon EOS Rebel T2i, however. As an entry lens is the EF-S 18-55mm F3 ,5-5, 6 IS just so in order, more fun for the camera but no doubt with the massive EF-S 15-85 mm F3.5-5.6, we had also attended the EOS Rebel T2i in action.
It's amazing how much "camera" man with the Canon EOS Rebel T2i receives an incredible features with $769.00. Absolutely top are the high-resolution display in 3:2 format and high resolution sensor, which is unique in this price range. Overall, the EOS Rebel T2i offers an exceptionally good image quality at higher ISO regions, it cuts off even excellent. The video quality is (in technical terms) beyond any doubt. On the other hand, the camera to the limits set, the 18 megapixels on an APS-S sensor. We can not imagine what image quality, the EOS Rebel T2i to provide a similarly constructed 12-megapixel sensor would have been able! The handling of the camera is good, the equipment leaves a somewhat mixed impression: does the software side, the EOS Rebel T2i has no weaknesses in the hardware, Canon has saved visible. The relatively simple plastic housing will not be everyone's thing, serious photographers will also miss a tilting screen for live view and video-recordings. Despite these minor weaknesses, the EOS Rebel T2i is recommended all around.
