How to change the ISO setting on Canon PowerShot S95?


Canon PowerShot S95 allows users to set the ISO value manually. The manual setting might need in certain condition to assure an optimum image quality.

Here the steps to set the ISO value on Canon PowerShot S95:
  1. Turn the Canon Canon PowerShot S95 on by pressing the ON / OFF button.
  2. Use the ISO-ring to adjust the ISO value. Here, a menu appears on the control panel where you can select from the following options:
  • AUTO: The Canon Powershot S95 digital camera sets the ISO value automatically (default).
  • 80 to 200: These low ISO settings are recommended for recording in good to excellent weather conditions (sunshine, few clouds).
  • 250-800: This medium-sized ISO values are recommended for recording in covered weather (lots of clouds).
  • 1000-3200: these high ISO settings are recommended for exterior shots in twilight or at night and shooting in closed, dark rooms.
Basically there are no strict rules on ISO value, so the experiment and experience are needed.
