BQScan: Software for digital camera

New software has been developed to allows digital camera to collects the effect of radiation in space.

BQS can sense radioactive radiation which is impinged during recording on the CCD chip of the camera. Depending on the intensity of the radiation induced signals in the chip, the software evaluates the level of radioactivity.

For a genuine possible result is to be used without the camera lens. Only a plastic cover on the bayonet ring provides sufficient darkness, so that the signals are not light, but by radioactive radiation condition. With the BQScan to beta and gamma radiation can be identified. Alpha radiation is shielded by the plastic cover of the camera. In addition, a radiation dose is required at least 2 micro Sievert per hour in order to measure anything at all.
