Is digital photography better than conventional?

Digital photography has reached the mass market and become more popular each day. Beginner and experienced photographers left the conventional way and move into digital photography. Are the digital photography is really better than the traditional photography?

Such a question cannot answer in general, since it depends on the various advantages and disadvantages. It cannot be explained in a simple way.
