Nikon Coolpix P7000 is a direct competitor to the Canon PowerShot G12, it has a weight of 360 grams and comes with 10.1 MP CCD image sensor. The digital camera makes an impressive image quality even with the maximum resolution of 3,648 x 2,736 pixels at poster size of 60 x 40 inches. Thanks to the EXPEED C2 image processor, ISO range value from 100 to 3200 and 7x zoom lens.

The zoom lens of Nikon Coolpix P7000 has a 7.1x optical zoom with a focal length of 6-42 mm, the aperture lie between 2.8 and 5.6. The VR image stabilization gives a good protection against camera shake. In manual mode, user works with shutter speeds from 1 / 4000 to 60 seconds.

Nikon Coolpix P7000 allows up to 30 minutes long good video recording at 24 FPS in HDV quality (720p) with the internal or an external stereo microphone in MOV format. The image data are stored on SD, SDHC or SDXC memory cards, the recorded videos can be viewed directly on an HDTV LCD television via the HDMI port.

The good TFT monitor has a display size of 3 inches with 921,000 pixels, the quality of the optical viewfinder is sufficient.

Nikon Coolpix P7000 is an outstanding bridge camera, even with its low 10 MP sensor doesn’t mean that the camera cannot provides high quality of pictures.
