Bridge Cameras

The bridge that the increase in digital cameras are ergonomic and physically resemble DSLRs and share with them some advanced features, but share with compacts with a fixed lens and a small sensor. Such as agreements, live preview of most use to frame the picture. Using the same contrast detect autofocus mechanism, but a lot of bridge cameras have manual focus mode, in some cases with a separate focus ring for greater control. Originally they were "saving" the gap between point and shoot camera affordable digital SLR that did not previously exist.

Given the combination of large physical size, but with small sensors, many of these cameras have a lens that is very, very determined with a wide focal range and quick release, partly to compensate for the inability to change lenses. Some qualify as a superzoom lens. To compensate for the decreased sensitivity of small sensors and the digital camera almost always include an image stabilization system to allow an exhibition of hand.

The cameras are sometimes marketed as and confused with digital SLR cameras since the appearance is similar. Bridge out the lack of reflex digital SLR system, usually have a fixed (not interchangeable) lenses (although some have wires in order to connect the accessory wide angle or telephoto converters), and can usually take movies with sound. The landscape is formed by looking at either an LCD or electronic viewfinder (EVF). Most have a shutter lag of a real digital SLR, but are capable of good image quality (with sufficient light) while the more compact and lighter than DSLRs. High-end models of this type of resolution in the bass and midrange DSLR comparable. Many cameras can store images in image format, raw or processed and compressed JPEG, or both. Most have a built-in flash similar to those found in a DSLR.

On sunny days, the quality difference between a good compact camera and a digital SLR, but a bit more portable bridgecams, cost less and have the ability to zoom DSLR. Bridge cameras that can fit well with the task of each, except in the pursuit of professional-quality photos.

In low light conditions and / or equivalent ISO above 800, most of the bridge cameras (or megazooms) lack of image quality even compared to the DSLR entry level. However, they have a great advantage, often not appreciated: - a greater depth of field because small compared to the digital SLR sensor, allowing a large hole in the shortest exposure time.

A 3D shooting mode was introduced in 2011, when the camera takes a second picture from a slightly different perspective, and provide a standard. MPO files for stereo display.
